Don't you just love it when you find a song that transports you? That's how I feel about most of Blonde Redhead's music. It's so dreamy that it sends my imagination floating and drifting along to the tune. It's some of my favorite music to write and daydream to, and now they've got a new album out! It's called Penny Sparkle and it's being released by 4AD, one of my favorite labels. Below is the music video for their new song Not Getting There, along with an older goodie. I hope you take a moment to enjoy them.

Way back in July, we escaped to Martha's Vineyard for few days. Now that I've finally gotten all my film developed I figured it was time to share some of our best shots here. With the days getting colder it's nice to look back on some of my favorite moments from summer. Warning! This post is very image heavy.
Naturally, the majority of our time was spent on the beach. Deb brought us to some of the prettiest beaches on the island and we spent the hottest parts of the day jumping into the waves and reading on the beach.
(I got the boy Tom's shoes for his birthday and they came on the trip with us. Unfortunately a seagull pooped on them our first day there. Isn't that supposed to be good luck or something?)
We tried our hands at skipping stones.
Somebody's feet got sunburned!
We stopped by the farmer's market and looked at a bunch of pretty plants and flowers.
There are lots of little roadside stands all over the island selling fresh fruits and veggies. This one had a cut-your-own
I got to try out ID-UV film for the first time while we were there. Deb was a good sport, splashing in the waves and sitting in the sand until I got things just the way I wanted.
(The boy took this shot "behind the scenes shot". I get a kick out of it because I'm pretty much the same color as the sand! I managed to return home looking a bit more tan.)
We ate lots of good food while we were there. The popover below was absolutely amazing! So light and fluffy. We also
went to a make-your-own pizza night at the Orange Peel Bakery.
We spent some time hanging out in the trees at Ceder Tree neck.
It was hard getting back on the ferry, but it was a perfect mini vacation.

Happy Labor Day! To be honest, today felt so much like the weekend that I almost forgot all about posting, but I'm glad I remembered at the last minute because I'm very excited about this song.
Last week I posted a link to Sufjan Stevens' new EP, All Delighted People, and this week I'm back with more wonderful new music from him! 'I Walked' is a track off of his forthcoming full-length album that is due out in October. I was happy to hear a few new songs from him via the EP, but I'm already looking forward to The Age of Adz even more if the rest of it sounds anything like 'I Walked'. This is quite different from anything off his other albums. It has a quiet, electro, synth thing going on, and it works really well. I can't even tell you how many times I've listened to this song in the past week! Even though the music is different the emotional intent and delivery is very strong here, just like with all of his other songs, and I think that's what makes me love his music no matter how it changes.
