belated valentine's post: a sweet idea

I remember stumbling across this site a while ago and loving it so, so much... and then forgetting to bookmark it. Thankfully, it has been brought to my attention once more. The Ones We Love is a site highlighting different photographers from around the world. Each of them takes pictures of a person who they love. Each set of pictures is unique and wonderful and I can't stop browsing through all of them. I love the info that comes before the pictures as well.

This past week I've been listening to Alela Diane's new album To Be Still. It's being released tomorrow by Rough Trade and I highly recommend it. Her voice is a beautiful blend of pure and earthy and the harmonies are breathtaking. Here is the video for one of my favorite songs.

I love, love, love this song off of Andrew Bird's new album Noble Beast. I can't wait to listen to the whole cd. Hopefully I'll make it to one of his live shows someday...

a room with a view

Every February I, at some point, get around to watching A Room With a View. It's the perfect cure for the winter blues. After yet ANOTHER snowfall I think it might be time for a trip to the video store.
