monday music: holy fuck
I don't really know anything about this band. In fact, this is the only song of theirs I've actually listened to. But what I DO know is that this music video has lots of cats in it. And they are cute. Cats driving cars! The song is pretty neat too. I hope you enjoy.
winter feet
Happy Monday and happy November! I had quite a busy weekend and will hopefully have some nice pictures to share once I get the film developed. Until then, have a look at my latest shoe obsession. Wouldn't these Keds boots be perfect for keeping your toes warm in winter? I can picture myself tromping all over the place in them.

the big top
I'm very excited about Halloween this year because I have a party to dress up for! This weekend we're headed to Brooklyn where our friends are throwing a circus themed party. I love any excuse to dress up, but this costume is especially fun to dream about because of all the bright color possibilities and the theatricality involved. I plan on taking plenty of pictures at the party, but for now here's a look at some of my costume inspiration.

planning for spring
It seems funny to be getting ready for winter and spring at the same time, but that's what you do when you want to have garlic. This past weekend we cleared out a spot in our overgrown garden to plant some seed garlic. It was getting dark by the time we were done, but I still managed to snap a few pictures.

monday music: GOASTT
Happy Monday everyone! For today's listening we have something from Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. Together they make up the musical duo known as The Ghost Of a Saber Tooth Tiger and their debut album is coming out on the 26th of October.
Acoustic Sessions is a wonderfully eerie album. It's at once wistfully romantic, and intent on crafting slightly off-kilter tunes. The instrumentation reminds me of complex music box melodies with beautiful harmonies weaving throughout. You can listen to the album on NPR right now. I think my favorite songs are Jardin du Luxembourg, Shroedinger's Cat and Song For James. Give it a listen!
P.S. I've been listening to so much good music over the past few weeks it was hard to decide which to feature today. Perhaps a new mix is in order?

sunday sunday
Sunny blue sky and bright leaves.
Wool sweaters and scarves and my favorite boots.
A trip to the flea market after weeks away.
Fabric scraps in all different colors.
The Farmer's Market.
Going to the Farmer's Market has become a weekly activity for us over the past few months, but now it's drawing to a close. We went today and tried to soak up as much of the fun and atmosphere as possible to carry us through the winter.

Each week has a different theme or highlight. Today was locally brewed beer.
I don't like beer, but it looked so nice I thought I might like this Russian Stout better. But I didn't.

Tomatoes are looking sad these days. Now it's time for the root vegetables to shine.

Here is a peek at my new scarf. It's made from lovely alpaca wool. So soft.

If I'm being completely honest, there is one thing in particular that draws us here from week to week.
Farm to Hearth makes the most amazing pizza I've ever had. Not only is the crust delicious, but each week they come up with creative new topping combinations to highlight what's for sale at the market. This week I had kobocha squash and brussel sprouts. Maybe not two things you'd expect to find together... or on top of your pizza, but it works! Here's a close up.
